Course Registration

During your Student Success and Academic Planning Session, Student Success will provide you with instructions on specific courses to enroll in for your first term. Below you will find step-by-step instructions on how the registration process works and  how to register for your classes after you have met with your Student Success Specialist to go over which classes you plan to take for your first term.

Here are the instructions to register for classes:

  1. Log on to https://my.usc.edu using your USC e-mail username and password.
  2. Scroll down to the Single Sign-In Quicklinks box and select Web Registration.
  3. Select the term for which you wish to register.
  4. From the Department List, select Arts, Technology, and the Business of Innovation.
  5. Select IDSN or ACAD.
  6. Here you should see the list of courses that are available.
  7. The course number (e.g., IDSN 540) is listed on the left. Clicking on each course will expand the complete list of sections and corresponding class times.
  8. To add a section to your Current Course Selection, press Add to myCourseBin under your desired section.
  9. This section will now be added to your myCourseBin.
  10. Repeat this process for all of the courses for which you register.
  11. Once you have added all of your desired sections (class times),  add them to your your calendar by scrolling to the top of the page and clicking myCourseBin. On one of your courses, click Add this class; this will prompt the system to add all of the courses in your myCourseBin.
  12. Review the course(s) you want to add, and click Submit to complete the registration process.

Tips and Troubleshooting

  1. Dropping a class is very similar to adding a class. Once inside Web registration, select “myCourseBin” at the top of the page. Click “Unschedule” for the class you wish to drop. Select “Drop This Class,” and then submit your changes on the next page.
  2. You can add more than one section of the same course to your “Current Course Selection” area. However, you will only be able to register for one section per course.
  3. To remove a scheduled section, you can press “Unschedule” in the “Current Course Selection” area, or, in Calendar view, press the X in the corner of the section block on your calendar.
