All students are required to use their USC email account. To set up your account, please follow the instructions below. Check your USC email daily for messages from the program concerning registration, news, and events. Faculty send important assignments, changes, and announcements for class meetings and other notices to your USC email address.

To activate your USC email account:

To activate your USC Email, you must first complete your Graduate Admissions Certification. This is an additional requirement to submitting your Intent to Enroll and enrollment deposit.  Once you complete your certification, it will take approximately 1-3 business days for IT Services (ITS) to create your USC NetID and email account. If you previously deferred from an earlier cohort, you may have to wait until after you register for classes to set up your account.

After the 1-3 business days, please go to the USCNetID Activation website to check that your account has been created by IT Services and to activate your USC NetID and email account. Be sure to choose the first option that reads, “Please check here if you are a student or an ITS staff member.”

If you have any problems, please call ITS. Do not wait to create your USC email: All communication and updates from the university will be sent to your USC email address, including your financial aid notifications.

Once you have activated your account:

Please log into MyUSC with your USC NetID (the first section of your email address, before @usc.edu) and your password. Once you are logged in, please scroll down to the Student Links section. There you will click on “Gmail” to access your USC email account. Please then send your Student Success Specialist an email from your USC email account so we can add your email account to our records and verify that your account is properly set up.
